Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of the questions that I get fairly often. If your question is not on here, please be sure to send an e-mail to: question@takeoneacting.com.
Should I sign with an agent that is not a SAG franchised agent?
No. If you are really trying to have a successful acting career, you should really try to get a SAG franchised agent. Many times, non-SAG agents are out to scam you and make you pay them money to be represented.
What is the difference between an agent and a manager?
An agent will get breakdowns for TV, film, and stage, and will submit your headshot and resume if you fit one of the characters. A manager will call casting directors and ask if they can put you in one of their projects. Managers are much more aggressive to find you work than agents.
How much do agents and managers get paid?
Agents should NEVER get more than 10% of what you make, and managers should NEVER get more than 15% of what you make.
